Interface and HUD

These two live under the appearance tab of the menu. Both are on by default and neither shows in the HUD module list.

The appearance tab

The overlay's colours are a theme: five colours that everything fkdr draws is built from, the menu and the HUD alike. The appearance tab opens on a strip of pages:

  • presets: 64 ready-made themes as cards, each showing a small menu and module list in its colours, grouped into dark and light and filtered by family (house, classic, neon, pastel, earth, mono, retro, seasonal). Hover a card to preview it on the live menu; click it to use it. Nothing is saved until you click.
  • colours: the five colours one by one. Click one to open the picker; Ctrl+V pastes a hex value. The RGB accent switch and its speed are here too.
  • animation: how the accent colour moves (AccentMode and its settings below).
  • hud: the HUD's font, text size, panels and watermark, and the button for its layout editor. The Ping readout's settings are here too.
  • music: every setting of the now playing card, in sections (layout, song, cover, lyrics, visualiser, controls, colours). See HUD elements.
  • module list: what the module list shows, how it looks and how rows come and go.
  • menu: the menu key and which tabs the menu shows.

The presets and colours pages say which preset you are on, or custom when your colours match none of them, with undo for the last change this session and reset to default, which goes back to the fkdr preset. A preset asks before it replaces custom colours. A low contrast chip appears when the text on your background falls below 4.5:1; every preset is 7:1 or better.

colour what it paints
Accent highlights, switches, the watermark and module names
Background the menu and HUD ground
Panel raised surfaces: the top of the menu, tooltips, HUD panels
Text main text
Muted secondary text: labels, hints, values you are not editing

The five are ordinary colour settings on the Interface module, so /fkdr set Interface Background #101418 works and they save with the rest of the config. A colour you edited by hand is never overruled by a preset. Light themes also restyle the Social, Scripts and Tags tabs.

Interface default on menu key: -

The theme, how the accent moves, and the menu bind. /fkdr bind changes MenuKey too.

setting type default description
MenuKey key MINUS Key or mouse button that opens the menu. Click it and press Esc (or right-click the row) to unbind.
AccentMode Static · RGB · Breathe · Gradient Gradient How the accent colour moves, everywhere it is used. Static: still. RGB: cycles the spectrum. Breathe: eases dimmer and back. Gradient: flows between the accent and a second colour of your choosing. Shown in the menu as accent animation.
RGBSpeed 0.1–5 0.5 How fast the accent animates, in every mode. Shown as speed. Visible when AccentMode is not Static.
AccentIntensity 0–100 50 How strong the animation is: how deep the breath, and how far towards the second colour the gradient reaches. Shown as intensity. Visible when AccentMode is Breathe or Gradient.
AccentSpread 0–100 50 How far apart neighbouring module list rows are in the animation. 0 moves the whole list together. Shown as spread. Visible when AccentMode is Breathe or Gradient.
GradientColour colour #8C6CFF The colour the gradient flows to from the accent. Shown as second colour. Visible when AccentMode = Gradient.
AnimatedChatPrefix toggle on fkdr's own chat lines draw the fkdr prefix in your theme's accent colours, moving across it. Off draws it still.
HDFont toggle off The smooth font for Minecraft's own text. This is the master switch. Shown as smooth game font. It holds itself off while another mod that rewrites the game font is installed (your setting is kept; the font page says why and has an on anyway button), and it falls back to the game font for the session if it ever becomes expensive to draw. It and the switches below take effect at once, whether or not the Interface module itself is on.
HDFontChat · HDFontTab · HDFontScoreboard · HDFontMenus · HDFontTitles toggle on (scoreboard off) Where the smooth game font is used: chat, the TAB list (and its stats), the scoreboard, menus/buttons/tooltips, and the big titles in the middle of the screen (like BED DESTROYED!). Shown as chat, tab list, scoreboard, menus, titles under appearance → hud → game font. Name tags and signs always keep the game's font, and so does chat below 65% chat scale. Visible when HDFont.
HDFontScale 0.8–1.2 1.0 Size of the game's text relative to vanilla. 1.0 matches it most closely. Visible when HDFont.
HideEnhancements toggle off Hide the whole enhancements tab from both menu layouts, straight away. Modules already on keep running; /fkdr toggle <module> still works. Shown as hide enhancements.
PanicKey key unbound Turns every module off, and back on again. Right-click the row to unbind.
PanelsAccentCycle toggle on Shown as panels accent cycles. In the panels layout, the accent, the panel edges and the names of the modules that are on slowly walk the rainbow. Off: a flat fkdr teal.
PanelsOpacity 0.25–1 0.76 How solid the panels layout's panels are. Lower lets the game show through; 1 is solid.
PanelsMark toggle on Shown as panels centre mark. The word fkdr in the middle of the panels layout, cycling through the spectrum, behind the panels.
PanelsMarkParticles toggle on Shown as centre mark particles. Particles flying around that mark. Visible when PanelsMark.
Accent, Background, Panel, Text, Muted colour the fkdr preset The five theme colours. Edited on the colours page, so they are not listed in the drawer.

The animation drives the menu, the watermark, the accent bars and the module list names, and Hitboxes and Outline while their FollowAccent is on. Breathe and Gradient travel down the module list row by row; world boxes and outlines take the list's top-row colour.

RGB, Hue, Saturation and Brightness are hidden from the menu but still work from /fkdr set and scripts, and are kept in step: turning RGB on selects the RGB mode, and setting Hue changes the Accent colour. Scripts can read the live accent, animation included, with render.accent().

HD font and OptiFine

The smooth game font works on Lunar and on Forge, with or without OptiFine. Spaces are whole pixels wide, so TAB stats columns stay lined up. /fkdr font says whether it is on; if a client draws its own text, the game's normal font stays. Spaces and symbols keep the game's own widths, so centred server MOTDs and space-padded lines stay centred. /fkdr font trace writes a trace for support (chat text left out).

HUD default on

Draws the fkdr watermark and the active-module list, and owns the overlay's font, size and panel look. EditKey (= by default) opens the drag-and-drop HUD editor.

Watermark toggle on Show the fkdr mark in the corner.
ModuleList toggle on List enabled modules down the right side.
ListStyle Two-tone · Accent · Flat Two-tone Two-tone: the module's name and its mode in two colours (name in the accent, mode in white by default). Accent: every row in the accent. Flat: every row in one colour. Visible when ModuleList.
ListBackground Panel · Rows · None Panel Panel: one panel behind the whole list, in the HUD's panel style. Rows: a dark box behind each row, fitted to that row, stepping in as the rows get shorter. None: bare text with a shadow. Visible when ModuleList.
ListBgOpacity 0–100 90 How solid the row boxes are. The text stays solid. Visible when ListBackground = Rows.
ListShadow advanced toggle on A soft dark shadow under the row text, so it holds up where the box is thin. Visible when ListBackground = Rows.
ListOrder Width · Alphabetical · Category Width Width: widest row first, measured as drawn, so the anchored edge is straight. Alphabetical: by name. Category: grouped the way the menu groups them. Visible when ModuleList.

Glide: every row eases toward its place, sliding in from the edge, out past it, and up or down when the order changes. The other motions open a gap first, so rows never overlap. Switching the whole list (or the HUD) on or off plays it as a cascade, row after row. Visible when ModuleList.
ListAnimSpeed 4–40 16 How quickly Glide rows settle. Higher is snappier. Visible when ListAnimation = Glide.
ListAnimTime 60–1000 ms 240 How long a row takes to come in or go out, and how long the whole-list cascade takes. Visible when ListAnimation is not None.

Version toggle on Show the build number beside the watermark. Visible when Watermark.
Edition toggle off Show the version name (enhanced or classic) after the watermark. Visible when Watermark.
MediaCovers toggle on Show the album cover beside the song in the now playing element. When your player shares no cover, it is looked up by artist and title on Apple's iTunes search.
EditKey key = Key or mouse button that opens the drag-and-drop HUD editor. Also /fkdr hud.

Every face except System comes with fkdr, so it looks the same on every computer; System uses your computer's own UI font.
